Founded to inspire hope and foster a vibrant future, we strive to uplift young minds and families across Zambia. As a registered non-profit organization—proudly established as an NGO status (Non-profit organization)—our mission is both clear and critical.

Our focus encompasses educational support, vocational training, healthcare provision, socioeconomic backing, and talent enhancement via sustainable initiatives. Together, we pave the way for improved living conditions, ensuring a healthier future for all.

Our Mandate

Our mission revolves around enhancing the livelihoods of youth. We achieve this through vocational skill development, healthcare support, and hygiene awareness. A key focus is providing vulnerable youth with accessible, quality education through scholarships and school support.

We champion the rights of the marginalized, promote safe shelters, and deliver agroecological training to bolster food security. Our commitment extends to climate action initiatives, fostering family bonds to uplift communities throughout Zambia.

A Glimpse into Our History

Since its inception in 2009, New Hope Waves has been a lifeline for vulnerable youth. Founded by Auldridge Chibbwalu—a resilient individual from Maramba—this organization emerged from personal challenges. Thanks to Swedish sponsors, Auldridge completed his education and experienced cultural exchanges in Europe. Driven by gratitude, he dedicated himself to empowering others facing similar hardships. Our official registration took place in 2015, marking our commitment to youth advocacy.

Mission


Our focus age group is young people, ages 15-30.

Objectives and Functions


  • Ensure access to quality education for all youth, both formally and informally.

  • Empower young lives through essential vocational skills training and development.

  • Raise awareness about climate change and the environmental challenges confronting youth.

  • Provide resources, funding, and agricultural training to encourage self-sufficiency.

  • Equip youth with social and economic skills to tackle issues like poverty, early marriages, young unemployment, youth delinquencies, and substance abuse.

  • Prevent HIV spread and support those affected, young and old.

  • Uphold the rights of all individuals, advocating for gender equality and inclusive.

  • Equip youth with vital tools for better livelihoods, healthcare, and community integration.

Activities


1. Youth Skills Development and Support Program

We're on a mission to empower over 200 orphaned and vulnerable youth across Livingstone. Grouped in threes, they receive hands-on vocational training—barbering, carpentry, food production, and more. Each member gains not only essential skills but also business grants to uplift their families, combating hunger and healthcare challenges while confronting climate issues head-on.


2. New Hope Waves School

Our Kindergarten and Primary school, launched in 2019, welcomes over 178 children aged 4 to 15 years. Nestled along Natebe road in Maramba, we proudly provide free, quality education to the most vulnerable communities in Livingstone. Our mission is to transform lives through literacy, ensuring a brighter future for every child.


3. The Girls and Women Program

The goal of this initiative is to empower girls and women to confront the challenges that threaten their lives. These challenges stem from cultural, social, and economic issues that hinder their ability to reach their full potential due to gender discrimination. The program aims to provide them with quality education, skills, and support to become self-sufficient.


4. Football/Soccer Program

Football is more than a game; it's a vehicle for empowerment. Our program encourages youth to break free from substance abuse while honing their talents on the field. Catering to both genders aged 15 to 30, we provide life skills training that fosters character development, creating a vibrant and balanced community.


5. Leadership, Environment, and Climate Justice Programs

We engage young minds in programs designed for leadership and environmental stewardship. By fostering skills that combat substance abuse, HIV/AIDS, and gender inequality, we promote education and agency. Our collaborations with European Associations through the Erasmus+ Program enable cultural exchange and capacity building, enriching our community's resources.
